On 21 July 2020, the Federal Government announced that the JobKeeper Payment would be extended until 28 March 2021, however the updated scheme would be less generous and access will be more limited.

On 23 July 2020, The Treasurer released an Economic and Fiscal Update which contained further announcements regarding other Covid-19 measures.
